Our Faith
A Strong Center
At St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church we don’t ask you what your beliefs are at the door, or even at the altar. We come together to support one another in finding a meaningful, purposeful life that is strongly connected to God. Rather than describing the beliefs and boundaries of who is in and out, I prefer to describe our communion in terms of our faith in Jesus. Jesus is the strong center to which we are all traveling. Some of us already know Jesus in powerful, wonderful ways. Others are wondering what Jesus means to them.
We make room here for people who are not at all sure about God and for people who are very mature in their faith. If all you know is that you are hungry for love, or that you want something spiritual in your life, you will be welcome here. If you are a long time follower of Jesus looking for a place to continue to grow in the Spirit, you are welcome here.
We are followers of Jesus. We believe that God gives the gift of the Holy Spirit to teach, inspire and guide us. We believe that God is the creator of all that is, seen and unseen, and that God is continuing the work of creation by giving the gift of God’s loving Spirit. The way we live, serve and worship together is an expression of these very ideas.
Mainly, we follow Jesus because it works! Jesus reveals God’s love, and the purpose of our lives, in a particularly powerful and relevant manner. By seeking to know and follow Jesus, we find that we grow spiritually. We experience God’s love and we share that love with others.
If you are hungry to know God’s love, or looking for deeper meaning and purpose for your life, we can help. That’s what we are doing here. You don’t have to know all about Jesus. You don’t even have to be sure about what you think of God. This community is a good place to explore basic spiritul questions and advanced theological ideas.
We grow in our faith

- through our worship
- through encountering the Spirit in the beauty of art and music
- through studying the scriptures,
- through serving the hungry and the needy of the world,
- and through loving and caring for one another.

Our faith is practical and profound. We believe in a God who is both present with us and transcendantly powerful. God has given us the gift of Jesus, and the support of the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire our journey towards the wonder and love that God wants for all creation.
