The first time I visited St. Dunstan’s Church, long before I was called to be rector, I was blown away by the quality of the music. Since then I have come to appreciate the many, many musical gifts present in our congregation. We enjoy harp, violin, trumpet, French horn, flute, clarinet, classical guitar, piano, organ, vocal offerings, and hand bells from members of our congregation. Last Sunday we had 14 people turn out for our summer pickup choir.
We are in an important transition time with our music program. We have hired an interim organist who will join us on September 7th. In the meantime, we want to celebrate the depth and beauty of the musical gifts present in this congregation. This coming Sunday we will make all our music with members of the congregation. Mary Pacher will lead our hymn singing from the piano, and she has participated in the selection of music for the service, including our Vacation Bible Camp theme song, God’s Love is Everlasting. God has blessed us abundantly with musical gifts and talent, and we will respond by using our gifts to worship and thank God.
Yours in Christ,
