For the last several years, our Easter services have been even more special because of the presence of the Easter Orchestra. A few weeks before Easter, we gather as many people as possible who play a variety of instruments. Our congregation is lucky to have some experienced players who give a little of their springtime to practice some festive music. Thanks for the joy you communicate through music!
Special musical things happen all year round, not just at Easter. We often have solos or duets to bring a non-verbal component to our worship – harp, violin, bagpipes, cello, clarinet, flute, piano. Usually once a year we even have our friends, the “Ain’t No Heaven Seven,” playing Dixieland jazz.
Don’t forget the Special Music Fund that receives targeted donations for hiring musicians from outside our community and for many other purposes. And when you’re worshiping, give yourself over to singing – you will be richly rewarded. Thank God for the gift of music!
