In many ways, this is the beginning of a new year: New shows on TV, the football season starts, school has started again, and our program year at the church is starting. On Sunday, September 7th, we are kicking off a new year of Sunday School, youth group, and choir. The St. Agnes Guild is having their first meeting of the “year” this Friday. We celebrate all these new beginnings with a special day of worship, fellowship, and food.
At our 10:00AM service we will be lead in song by the wonderful Dixieland Jazz ensemble, the Ain’t No Heaven Seven. After this energetic service, we will have a Ministry Fair. This is an opportunity to find out about various ministries in our congregation, what their mission is, and how you might get involved. And then, just past the fair tables, you will find the Kick-off Sunday Picnic! As usual, the Hospitality team will provide the burgers and sausages, buns and condiments, and the drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
What better way could there be to give thanks to God than to come together for joyful worship and a great picnic? We have been blessed by so much this past year with new ministries, new members, and new vitality. These blessings bring us joy. Let’s share that joy with one another this coming Sunday.
Yours in Christ,
