On Saturday, May 3rd, at 7:30 PM and Sunday May 4th, at 2:00 PM, the Magnolia Chorale will perform a concert dedicated to our own Mary Ellen Bahlkow. As director of the Ascension Episcopal Church Choir 25 years ago Mary Ellen was instrumental in the concerts that led to the formation of the Magnolia Choral. Now, as they celebrate their 25th anniversary, they are honoring Mary Ellen for her role in their origins. You can read more about the history of the Magnolia Chorale and Mary Ellen’s role here.
This story, and the concert that celebrates it, are beautiful illustrations of the blessings that follow when we use our gifts to be a blessing to others. God blesses each of us with skills, talents, hopes and passions. We experience blessing when we use what God has given us to bless others. Sometimes we don’t even know how we have blessed others. This concert is the Magnolia Chorale’s way of thanking the Mary Ellen and the people who founded their group.
You can still get tickets to these performances by going to the Magnolia Chorale web site. Come enjoy some great music and celebrate Mary Ellen.
Yours in Christ,
