Celebrating our Ministries

St. Agnes Guild Receptions

The past weeks have been difficult ones for some of our families as we have lost two beloved members. I work with families to help them through the difficult days after a loved one dies, but one thing I don’t have to worry about is planning and hosting a reception after the service. This is what our St. Agnes Guild does with grace and generosity.

The women of the St. Agnes Guild make it their ministry to host a gracious reception. They bake cookies and provide food. They pour coffee and tea from a silver tea and coffee service. The decorate the church and set the tables. They take care of all the details so that the family and friends of the deceased are free to visit and comfort one another.

The reception ministry of the St. Agnes Guild is another way the people of St. Dunstan’s Church respond to God’s love. God has graced us with many gifts and we are doubly blessed when we use those gifts to bless others. Thank you to all you who make the receptions ministry such a beautiful expression of love and generosity.

Yours in Christ,
The Rev. David Marshall
