This Sunday, April 24th, our bishop, the Right Rev. Dr. Gregory Rickel, will visit St. Dunstan’s Church. A Bishop’s visit is a grand event. We will roll out our best music, our best hospitality, and our best worship. Bishop Rickel will lead our worship and preach. We will have baptisms, confirmations, receptions into the Episcopal Church, and reaffirmations of faith. The whole morning is a celebration of all that God is doing in and through St. Dunstan’s Church.
There is a wonderful energy growing at St. Dunstan’s: in our worship, in our music, in our feeding ministries, and in our fellowship. We strive to follow Christ in community as a congregation and as individuals, and we are connected to 100 other congregations through our bishop. The bishop embodies and passes on the apostle’s teaching, the sacred traditions of the church, and the deeply relational nature of our life in Christ.
I encourage you to come to one of our services on this special day. Bishop Rickel will preach and preside at the 8:00AM service (at St. Dunstan’s). He will then meet with candidates for baptism and confirmation. Then he will preach and preside at the 10:00AM service with baptism and confirmations. After the service he will visit with us at a very special coffee hour, and you know we can do coffee hour well! Finally, he will meet with the vestry.
Yours in Christ,
