Once again this year St. Dunstan’s and our Youth Group will be sponsoring a Giving Tree for our friends at Ryan’s House. We have enjoyed doing this the past few years, and our congregation and friends have always been very supportive.
When you arrive at church this Sunday, you will see a tree over by the fireplace. Our Sunday school children and our youth will turn that plain ordinary tree into something quite beautiful to behold. They will help to bring the spirit of giving and helping each other into our church. As they place ornaments and lights on the tree, they will be reminded of the birth of Jesus and how much God loves all of us.
Please consider purchasing a gift for the teens of Ryan’s House. You may place your unwrapped gift under the tree. You may also purchase gift cards, and I ask that you give those to Jonathan to keep in the office for us. In addition to gift cards, some gift ideas are sweaters, warm hats, socks, and toiletries. You will find a list of gift suggestions on sheets on the large table in the Parish Hall. Please feel free to take one with you.
On Saturday, December 12th, our Youth Group will travel up to Whidbey Island for the annual Ryan’s House Christmas Party and luncheon. We will take the gifts that you have so generously donated with us. Our friends from Northern Lights International Ministry Church will be joining us. It promises to be a wonderful day of fellowship and celebration.
We thank you in advance for taking part in our Giving Tree. Let’s all work together to bring some Christmas happiness to young people who have so very little. Let us help to make a difference in their lives and let them know that we care. Let us love them just as God loves them.
