Expanding Horizons

150122_edI love the beginning of a new year. We can look back at the previous one and celebrate all that has been accomplished and then look forward to doing even more in the new year.

Last year was awesome for our children and youth at St. Dunstan’s. Our children in Sunday School had a wonderful time learning about the life of Jesus through reading their Bibles and other new books, and they were led by an incredibly gifted group of teachers. Our Youth Group was very active, and they are developing into wonderful leaders. Their work with Ryan’s House and Project Linus was outstanding.

As we look forward to this new year, we also look forward to expanding our horizons in the work we do. We will continue to take an active part in the activities at St. Dunstan’s, and we will also look for ways that we can help others outside the walls of our church. We will also look for ways that we can have fun together.

Speaking of fun, I want to let you know that you can now register for Camp Huston summer camp. The summer camp is sponsored by our Diocese, and it  is a wonderful opportunity for your children. My own children attended this summer camp many years ago. Two of my grandchildren attended it and later became counselors there. Kristen Pacher is still a counselor. Each week of camp offers different opportunities for the children with such things as horseback riding, archery, and much more. Brochures will soon be on the table in the Parish Hall, and you can also register online. Please give some thought to the camp. Your kids will love it.

Your love and support of our children is a blessing to all of us. I am so privileged to be a part of their Christian Education, and the teachers and I thank you for everything.

Mary E. Pacher
