This is such an exciting time of year for the children, youth, and teachers at St. Dunstan’s Church. Our Sunday school started last Sunday, and the teachers also had their meeting to make plans for the year. We have a set of lovely new books to go with our Bibles, and everyone is excited. Our teachers were commissioned at a lovely service last Sunday, and we are off to a good start. Good things are happening downstairs.
Our Youth Group met last Sunday evening, shared dinner together, and planned the first part of the year. They will be doing outreach projects, going on some fun outings, and enjoying the company of youth from other churches. There are plans for them to become involved with our own community around St. Dunstan’s. In addition, they will be hosting a Giving Tree this year which will benefit the homeless teenagers in our area and Ryan’s House for homeless teens on Whidbey Island. They are also planning a wonderful multi-generational activity for the entire congregation called “Project Linus” which will take place in November. Stay tuned for more information, which will be coming soon.
A lot is going on, and our programs are in place. The support we have received from all of you is very much appreciated, and I thank you. We invite you to become involved with what we are doing and help in any way that you might like.
