It’s hard to believe that the school year is almost over. Families will soon be taking vacations together and summer is upon us. We have had a fantastic year at St. Dunstan’s in both the Sunday school and our Youth Group. Our Sunday school has grown in numbers and the number of teachers has increased as well. We are blessed to be working with your children and they bring much joy to our program.
Our Youth Group hosted the homeless teens from Ryan’s House for Youth for a weekend and also took part in many outreach activities. They took time to have fun as well and were involved with helping at the Tuesday night community dinners, working on the community garden for Hopelink, and working alongside the Sunday school children to present a lovely Christmas pageant. They had a busy year and a year that was filled with helping others.
This summer we will be offering our annual Vacation Bible Camp. Brochures are available in the office, and you may also download one. Our theme this year is “We Sing of your Glory,” and our teachers have prepared a fantastic week of fun and activities. Sign your child up for this event and encourage them to bring their friends. It promises to be a week of fun, music, Bible stories, games, arts, and crafts.
Next fall we will be introducing a new curriculum to our Sunday school children. It is rich in Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament. The curriculum is entitled Holy Moly, and the kids will love it.
On behalf of our teachers and youth leaders, I want to thank all of you for your support this past year. Our programs have benefited from that support and so have our children. Children are one of God’s greatest gifts and we are blessed to have spent time working with the children. Thank you for the glorious opportunity to love, teach, and care for them as we bring them closer to God.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe summer. Know that God loves us today, tomorrow, and throughout eternity.
