Children and Youth
Our Children, Living the Way of Christ
We value your child and provide a warm, welcoming and safe environment for all children where they can learn and practice Christian values.
We provide a cheerful and welcoming nursery for younger children during our 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday. Our nursery provides many opportunities for the children to enjoy themselves playing with a variety of activities and toys that are appropriate for their age group. It is staffed by caring teachers.
Our Sunday School is held during the first part of our Sunday morning service from 10:00 until approximately 10:40. At that time, the children go upstairs and join their family for communion. Sunday School is open to children from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Our curriculum is “Seasons of the Spirit,” and is taught by a team of volunteers who have been trained in the curriculum. Sunday School offers a variety of activities for the children, including bible stories, arts and crafts, music, and prayers.
Our volunteers are certified in the Diocesan sponsored program, Safeguarding God’s Children, and have also had Washington State Patrol background checks.
Youth Group is for youth grades 6 through 12. They meet every Sunday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. They enjoy dinner together and work with trained volunteers and the Rev. David Marshall.
Our Youth Group is involved in community service activities, enjoys a spring and fall retreat, and other activities such as enjoying a movie, bowling, and meeting with other Youth Groups in the area. They are involved in programs such as the “Thirty Hour Famine” and continue to be a integral part of St. Dunstan’s worship service.
In the fall they set their goals for the year and explore their relationship with each other and with God.
