The past year has been full of blessings for St. Dunstan’s Church. We have welcomed new members to our congregation, our worship attendance is growing, our buildings and grounds are being used more fully and more often, our existing ministries are seeing growth, and we have several important new ministries, including our new Community Dinners. All of this is possible because of your participation in the life and ministries of St. Dunstan’s Church.
On Sunday, February 15th, at 11:30AM we will hold our Celebration of Ministries and Annual Meeting. At this meeting we will hold up our various ministries, both old and new, thank the people who make them possible, and give our thanks to God. We will present the financial results for 2014 (we finished the year with a surplus, thanks be to God!) and our budget for 2015, and we will elect a new class of vestry members.
Our vestry has played a vital role in the growth and vitality of our congregation. We will be thanking three outgoing members of the vestry: Karen Tynes, Bill Frost, and Richard Williams. We will also be voting to elect new vestry members. The vestry is offering a slate of candidates that includes Paul Holt, Teresa Hugel, Roger Pankey, and Pricilla Soto. Each of these candidates has valuable gifts and passion to offer to the work of the vestry for the congregation, and I look forward to another year of blessings. Paul has been with us for several years and even served a term on the vestry once before. Teresa is relatively new to St. Dunstan’s Church but not to church leadership. She also has a great experience in nonprofit leadership and community development work, including working as Executive Director of the Greater University Chamber of Commerce in Seattle. Roger Pankey is a long time Episcopalian with experience on vestries, including serving as Jr. Warden at another congregation. Pricilla has been attending our congregation for a couple years now and works as a real estate agent. Pricilla is Rowan’s mom, and Rowan is pretty much famous. I am very excited about the strength of this vestry class.
Our plan for the Celebration of Ministries and Annual Meeting is to be finished in about one hour. Please come to thank the people who are leading ministries at St. Dunstan’s Church, to celebrate our wonderful results from 2014, and to look forward to another blessed year.
Yours in Christ,
